چکیده
The development of modern vehicle drives is aimed at reducing fuel consumption (i.e., crude oil) and minimizing the exhaust emission toxic components. One such implementation a two-stage combustion system. Such system initiates ignition in prechamber, then burning mixture flows into main chamber, where it ignites lean mixture. allows efficient mixtures, both liquid gaseous fuels, cylinder. This article proposes solution for internal engines with cylinder capacity approx. 500 cm3. tests were carried out on single-cylinder engine powered by pure methane supplied through double, parallel injection A wide range charge ignitability requires use an active chamber containing injector spark plug. n = 1500 rpm three load values (indicated mean effective pressure, IMEP): 2, 4 6 bar. All these constant value center (CoC), 8 deg CA. approach resulted timing being control signal CoC. As result conducted research, was found that increase load, which improved inter-chamber flow, allowed leaner mixtures without increasing coefficient variation, CoV(IMEP). achieved ? 1.7 acceptable level non-uniformity operation, CoV(IMEP) < 8%. engine’s indicated efficiency when using reached about 42% 1.5 (which percentage points more than conventional 1.0).

Large eddy simulation of spark ignition in a turbulent methane jet
Large Eddy Simulation (LES) is used to compute the spark ignition in a turbulent methane jet flowing into air. Full ignition sequences are calculated for a series of ignition locations using a one-step chemical scheme for methane combustion coupled with the thickened flame model. The spark ignition is modeled in the LES as an energy deposition term added to the energy equation. Flame kernel for...
متن کاملIgnition Characteristics of Turbulent Jet Flows
Releases of flammable materials from chemical plant are a hazard since their dispersion down to safe levels only occurs at some distance from their source. Within this distance, accidental ignition can give rise to fires or explosions. This paper describes the development of computational fluid dynamic models capable of predicting the ignition hazards presented by turbulent releases of flammabl...

Computational fluid dynamics simulation of methane combustion using chemical kinetics is studied. Linear least squares data fit to measured concentrations and temperatures is used to modify reaction rate parameters in the Arrhenius rate equation for combustion of methane. The modification of reaction rate parameters influences the result of CFD-simulations to predict combustion at experimental ...
متن کاملSimulation of Lean Premixed Turbulent Combustion
There is considerable technological interest in developing new fuel-flexible combustion systems that can burn fuels such as hydrogen or syngas. Lean premixed systems have the potential to burn these types of fuels with high efficiency and low NOx emissions due to reduced burnt gas temperatures. Although traditional scientific approaches based on theory and laboratory experiment have played esse...
متن کاملHigh temperature ignition and combustion enhancement by dimethyl ether addition to methane – air mixtures q
The effects of dimethyl ether (DME) addition on the high temperature ignition and burning properties of methane–air mixtures were studied experimentally and numerically. The results showed that for a homogeneous system, a small amount of DME addition to methane resulted in a significant reduction in the high temperature ignition delay. The ignition enhancement effect by DME addition was found t...
